Sound barrier, an acoustic barrier specially designed to stand between a noise source and a sound receiving point. It is usually designed for a specific sound source and a specific protection position.
The sound barrier is mainly used for sound insulation and noise reduction of highways, expressways, elevated composite roads and other noise sources. Divided into pure sound insulation reflective sound barrier, and sound absorption and sound insulation combined compound sound barrier, the latter is a more effective sound insulation method. It refers to the wall structure installed on the side of railway and highway to reduce the impact of traffic noise on nearby residents. Sound walls are also called sound barriers. A facility inserted between the sound source and the receiver, so that the sound wave propagation has a significant additional attenuation, thereby reducing the impact of noise in a certain area where the receiver is located, such a facility is called the sound barrier. It is divided into traffic noise barriers, equipment noise attenuation noise barriers, industrial plant boundaries noise barriers, roads and highways are the most used places of various types of sound barriers.
The outdoor sound barrier is generally made of brick or concrete structure, and the indoor sound barrier is made of steel plate, wood plate,PMMA/POLYCARBONATE SHEET plastic plate, gypsum board and aluminum foam. The sound barrier is mainly composed of steel structure column and sound absorbing baffle plate. The column is the main stress component of the sound barrier, which is fixed on the embedded steel plate of the road anti-collision wall or the track side by bolts or welding. The sound insulation board is the main sound insulation and sound absorption component, which is fixed in the H-type column slot through the high-strength spring clip to form a sound barrier. The design of the sound barrier has fully considered the wind load of the elevated highway, the urban light rail, the subway, the impact safety of traffic vehicles and the anti-corrosion problems in the open air all weather. It has beautiful appearance, exquisite production, convenient transportation and installation, low cost and long service life, especially suitable for the anti-noise use of elevated high-speed roads and urban light rail and subway, and is the most ideal sound insulation and noise reduction facilities in modern cities.
The height of the sound barrier is between 1m and 5m, covering the effective area with an average noise reduction of 10 ~ 15dB(125Hz ~ 4000Hz, 1/3 octave), up to 20dB. Generally speaking, the higher the sound barrier, or the farther away from the sound barrier, the better the noise reduction effect.
